The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December.
Read our blog post for more info about this change.
You may want to add to the Gradebook Import documentation that including inactive students in the import file (even if they were included in the export file) will cause the inactive student to have all of their grades in the course wiped from the Gradebook.
Wow. My only option was to create this separate question in the question forum. I used to be able to provide feedback directly to documentation.
Hello @james_whalley ...
Actually, that's not true. I am assuming that you were looking at this Guide:
How do I import grades in the Gradebook?
Scroll down to the very bottom of this Guide, and you'll see two red buttons, "Ask a Question" and "View Related Guides". Directly below these buttons is a link to "share your feedback". Use this link to fill out a form which will go directly to the Canvas Documentation Team so that they can review any comments you have for that Guide. And, this really applies to any Guide here in the Community...including their video tutorials.
Hopefully this bit of info will be helpful to you. Sing out if you have any other questions...thanks!
