is there are separate Inbox address? or is it the same as your regular email?

You do have a Canvas Inbox (also called "Conversations" in Canvas). The answer about your address can be found by checking your address in any course you are enrolled in under the "People Tab". It should be the email for which your institution provides to you. I suggest keeping your communication within Canvas.
