[ARCHIVED] Inter-Group Discussion?

Hi, I am using Canvas to facilitate in-class discussions where I first put students in groups to discuss face-to-face, and then want each group to write a response in the Canvas Discussion so that the whole class can see it and respond in a clear way. I want to be able to assign a single "participation" grade to each group. Is this possible? Currently, I have do this as an individual discussion, and just ask the students to mostly respond with a simple "present", and one group member types in the actual response. With this work around, I can give everyone who was "present" a grade, but it becomes cumbersome to see the actual responses for each group, let alone have the students respond to them later.
