Hello,

We are wanting our parents to go to only Tyler SIS to view student grades, but still have access to assignment details in Canvas.  Is there a way in Canvas to block parents from viewing only the gradebook without blocking it from students also?

Hi Michelle,

Canvas won't let you deny access to anywhere that Canvas decides is content for that role, the user can always get there by going directly to the URL. However, using custom themes for Canvas you can hide content for the Observer role. This may be as simple as hiding the navigation buttons to get there with some JavaScript and CSS. See this thread, Hiding Content from Certain Roles

You may need a tech or programmer to set it up if you don't have any experience in those areas, but it's a very thorough explanation of what you might need to do.
