[ARCHIVED] Is it possible to set "Use this rubric for assignment grading" as checked at the Admin level?

If an instructor adds a rubric to an assignment, they must also check "Use this rubric for assignment grading" to have the rubric grade appear in the gradebook.  Most instructors do not remember to check the checkbox.  All instructors at our institution that use rubrics want the grade from the rubric to go to the gradebook.

Is there a place that I, as the administrator, can set the "Use this rubric for assignment grading" to checked as the default?

This isn't an option at the account level. However, you can use the Canvas API to associate a rubric with an assignment. If this is something you may be interested in, I'd recommend checking out the Developer Group for assistance with APIs.

Hello,

I would also like to make all rubrics set to "use this for grading" by default but I am confused by this answer. Does this mean our campus IT department could modify Canvas to add some coding to enable this for our department only?
