[ARCHIVED] JS for additional Menu

I just returned from Instructure Con and I know a lot of you are using Javascript to do some amazing things and a lot of you discourage doing that because you have to keep testing it as it breaks a lot. I've also seen a lot of people add menu items across the top as a link to Campus Resources like the library.  Would anyone be willing to share their JavaScript they are using to add these menu items?  Do you think this will still be relevant with the new UI? I haven't found the switch yet to turn that on in beta.
