[ARCHIVED] Keeping Grades Hidden While Grading

I have chosen manually post grades and then click hide grades on the assignment.  So everything should be hidden, right?!  Then while grading said assignment you need to keep clicking hide grades to keep new grades hidden.  This is not acceptable.  Please fix this.  What is the point of hiding grades if they wont stay hidden?  This is making grading take longer than it should.

It sounds like you did everything correctly.  for the assignment select the post grades method of manually.  If any grades are visible, click on hide grades and then you should be good to go until you select post grades.  That is exactly what I do, and I have no problems with it.

Just to cover all the bases, did you go back and check to make sure that the grade posting policy was actually still set on manual?  Possibly it wasn't saved or it was automatically converted back somehow.  Not saying you did anything wrong, but what you said you did is exactly correct and you should not be having an issue.

I have triple checked that Manual Posting is selected and the crossed out eye is showing next to the assignment/quiz name.  When I start grading quizzes manually in Speed Grader is when those new grades are not hidden.  So after each new grade is added, I have to click Hide Grades in Speed Grader.  It is very frustrating and seems very inefficient that Canvas doesn't hide every grade, including new grades.

I hear you on the frustration part?  What type of quiz are you using - Classic Or New?  I have no problems with assignments(using rubrics) or classic quizzes.
it sounds like there might be an issue with your institutions version of Canvas, so it would warrant sending out a support ticket so that they could look at it.

Do you know if anyone else at your institution is having the same problem?  If not, then it is even more perplexing.  Good luck with finding the solution.
