I'm trying to use the Link Validator to check for broken links. The problem is, it shows 80+ broken links. Most of them are for pages or files that I have deleted and don't need or want them anymore. Is there a way to use the link validator that is actually useful...as in the validator only picks up links that really need attention? It is a HUGE time consumer to go through 80+ links only to find one true error. What am I doing wrong?
Or is there a way to double delete the unwanted content so it doesn't show up in the link validator?

Hello @KrisBumsted,
If the Link Validator is displaying pages that no longer exist in your course, will you please use the Report a Problem link in Canvas so that someone can look into this further?
If you have suggestions for improvements to the Link Validator tool, please share them in the Idea Conversations space.

Hello there, @KrisBumsted ...
I completely agree with @ctitmus on this one. I did have a question for you, though. You said that you saw items in your link validator for pages and files that you had deleted. I was curious if you had removed them only from your "Modules" page but not actually deleted them from the "Pages" screen. In "Modules", you can "Remove" items from your modules, but that does not completely delete those things from your course...especially Pages, Discussions, Quizzes, and Assignments. Those kinds of item can be "Deleted" from their respective index pages. So, if you had only removed the items from your "Modules" page without also deleting them from the Pages, Discussions, Quizzes, or Assignments pages, I could see why the link validator might catch those items. If you delete those items first from your index pages, then they will be deleted also from your "Modules" pages.
I hope this extra bit of information will be of help to you. Let Community members know if you have any other questions about this....thanks!
