[ARCHIVED] Merging classes of the same course

I currently teach 3 classes of one subject and 2 classes of another subject. When I initially set up those courses in Canvas, I set up 5 courses.  I would like to now have only 2 courses to eliminate extra work of copying assignments. Is there any way to do this without messing things up?  I do not grade through Canvas - only issue assignments. Thanks!

Depending on your institutions settings, you may be able to Crosslist your courses. Some schools and universities have this turned on at the account level and some only have it turned on at the admin level. In my district, teachers have the ability to crosslist their own classes, but I warn them not to do it once they publish the course. I would recommend weighing out the pros and cons for sure! 

Here is a help article on crosslisting, but again, you may not have that functionality it will depend on what your school has chosen. 

If you are able to and do decide to crosslist, you will lose the current work that your students have submitted. Those assignments will not follow them to the "new" section. This is why it is generally best to do this before publishing. 

If crosslisting is not an option, have you tried working in a master course and then sharing that to commons and then copying that course to all your active ones? Another option could be the new "send to" or "copy to" features?
