A student responded to an assignment with a video. Shortly after she submitted it on Friday, I viewed it via Speed Grader. Last night, I sought to review it and received the following message:
Media is currently being converted, please try again in a little bit.
I have tried several times and the video has not been available to me.
Is there any way to retrieve this video? I am concerned that she has lost her work and others may as well.
Sarah
Hi @sarah_m_killory ,
Thanks for taking the time to post your question here in the Canvas Community! I know you posted it over a week ago, and hopefully in that time you've found the answer you're looking for. Regardless of how your student submitted the video (using the media recording tool in the Rich Content Editor or uploading a file), I'm not entirely sure why it's suddenly not available. However, an educated guess leads me to think that the server it's hosted on was/is experiencing a high volume of traffic, making it difficult for Canvas to retrieve the video for you to view.
If the problem has persisted this long, I'd recommend reaching out to Canvas Support for help. Hopefully you've been able to review the video! Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns and we'll do our best to help.
Thanks,
Allie
