I created a quiz and by doing so set up "Item Banks" that categorized my quiz questions by text book chapter reference (Item Bank Title.) Now I have discovered the Course Bank function and wonder what the difference is between these two areas? Where is it best to source my quiz questions from - Item Banks or Course Banks? How do I copy/move Item Bank quiz questions to Course Banks - and by doing so am I better utilizing the functionality differences?
When you go to the manage banks function of item banks you will see the banks related to all of the quiz questions you have created, no matter what course they apply to. That makes it easy to reuse the same questions in multiple sections, semesters, and courses. It does not help with sharing the questions with other instructors.
In classic quizzes the matching feature was called question banks. I did not use it much, so I'm not sure if it was specific to the course or the instructor.
I have not seen a function called "course bank" however I hope that it is a way to link item banks specifically to a course, so that they are copied with the course content to any section taught by any instructor... That would be very helpful. Where did you find "course banks?"
Course banks are an option in the dropdown menu on the Banks page (screenshot below). It would be very nice to keep certain banks associated with certain courses. I can't find any documentation on what course banks are or how to use them.
