The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
The student log in Classic Quizzes shows when a student changes focus away from the open quiz. The log in New quizzes only shows the timestamps for students responses with no indication that they've navigated to a different window (like Google where they may search for a response). I don't see this feature on the New Quizzes roadmap, is this being added? If New Quizzes is to have parity with Classic Quizzes, this information needs to be part of the log and is important information for an instructor to determine if a student might have cheated.
Thank you for putting this question out there--I was starting to think I was misremembering being able to see when a student left the quiz page last year. Now that I think of it, I did transition to new quizzes this year. This was one of my favorite features of Canvas in general, I really hope they move it over to New Quizzes ASAP.
