[ARCHIVED] Not all Inbox notifications not being sent to email

Lately, even though I have my Notifications set in Canvas to send me an email every time a student sends me a message in the Inbox, some of the messages do not trigger the email. Currently, out of approximately 50 students, there are two for whom I do not receive emails. All the rest of the times other students message me in Canvas, I receive an email. My question is, is this a glitch? Is this something that the individual students are doing when they are creating the messages? Is it a browser issue? I have discussed this with colleagues and they have similar problems. It is not all messages that don't send notifications, it seems limited to certain students.
