[ARCHIVED] Notification of Changes to Content Already Imported from Commons?

Does the Canvas user receive notifications that changes have been made to the content they have already imported into their course from Commons?  If so, how are they notified?  If not, is the best practice to just routinely check for updates?  This seems hit or miss . . . . .
