Hi everyone,

The University of Maryland, Division of Information Technology, Learning Technology Strategy group submitted a proposal to South by Southwest (SXSW) EDU Conference PanelPicker entitled “Creating Global Learning Opportunities.” This proposal discusses our group’s implementation of Open Catalog, an online platform to meet the need of our campus community and beyond. In our presentation, will describe how individuals across the university can offer non-term based free or fee-based courses to members of the university community and beyond in the Open Catalog service.

Open Catalog has been an easy way for individuals from colleges and departments to offer professional development, training and development, and online courses. Administrators of this service, can manage participant enrollments, offer promotions to their participants, provide certification of completions and transcripts for their participants, and process refunds.

We would appreciate your votes to be able to present at this conference on March 4 - 7, 2019 in Austin, Texas.

To vote:

  • Post a comment to your upvote of our proposal. “It is important for the community to learn about Open Catalog because _________”

Community voting and commenting is open from August 6 - 30, 2018, and your strongest words of support will go a long way. You can only vote once per proposal.

Thank you in advance for your support,

Jessica
