[ARCHIVED] Prerequisites or Locking mechanism for actual Assignments *within* a Module?

The prerequisite function for Modules is great. We'd also like to remove the dates and run the course based on completing each individual assignment within a module in order.
Is it possible to force students through a path - unlocking each successive assignment within a module without allowing them to pick and choose assignments in random order? Once the module is unlocked - the assignments can be completed without regard to order.
What can we do to control for that?

Below the lock until date and prerequisites (which opens the module only after completion of specified module(s)) there is a requirements section. Select students must complete all of these activities, and then check the box below that requiring sequential order. Then add each item of the module to the list of requirements. You can set the requirement to view or mark complete or contribute to page or submit or score at least. For example pages and files are either going to work best with view or mark complete, because there is nothing to submit. However, you may want to require an actual post to a discussion, so contribute to page, would make more sense. Then you may have some practice quizzes that you want students to repeat until they reach a minimum score, and assignments or graded quizzes that students will move on from after submission no matter what their score. Just add the appropriate setting as a requirement for each activity and the module rule will require that action from students before they will be allowed to move on to the next activity.
