[ARCHIVED] Problem with a Shared Calendar (Not letting me choose my calendar for my own events)

Does anyone know how to fix a calendar that is part of a shared course with another teacher?  I share my course with another teacher (and vice versa).  When I try and add my own individual event, it only gives her calendar as an option....Anyone have any thoughts?

Hi Christine Ziese,

Will you share a screen shot? It should be possible for you to select your calendar. And to confirm that you are adding an event and not an assignment?

Are you not seeing your name on the Calendar drop-down? (Is her name first alphabetically? That's my guess since your last name is Ziese.)

If you are unable to find your name, please submit a help ticket to Canvas support from the Global Navigation menu.

Thank you for replying so quickly!  I am not sure if I am allowed to share a screen shot, but that is the drop down menu I am seeing, except where the calendar has Doug Roberts, if you choose the arrows, it only has hers listed.  I am after her (She is near the middle of the Alphabet).  Does it matter if in my calendar view, I have her and my calendar highlighted?  I have them both selected.....does it just need to be mine when I am making an event?

Hi again Christine,

Hmm, try just having your calendar selected and see if you are presented with your name in the Location box. Maybe that's the trick after all. I just tried to create a calendar even and I didn't have my calendar selected at all, so I wasn't given the option to choose my own personal calendar.

So yes, tick yours and hopefully that works. Otherwise, yep. Submit a help ticket to Canvas.

Hi Shar!

  Sorry this week has been crazy.  Yes thank you......I actually had to deselect all other calendars, and then I was able to see my calendar to make an individual event.  Thank you so much for your help!
