Can someone tell me how to access the roll call feature inside of a course and also how does it work for tracking students attendance?

Glenn,

Look for a link on the left side of your course named Attendance.  Once you click it you'll see a roster of your students and be able to take attendance.  The first time you mark something it will create an Assignment named Roll Call Attendance and add a column to the gradebook for it.  Below is a link to the Canvas guides section on Roll Call Attendance.
