I'm using Canvas as a database to track graduate student progress in our program (note: this is an application of Canvas that could find tremendous use, if Canvas wanted to develop it further). One of my rubrics is shown below. I'm using the column "Pts" for instructors (our faculty) to enter comments regarding their student's performance. Can I change the column heading from "Pts" to "Text" or something else?
@jrmorris , greetings! What a creative way to use rubrics one Canvas! Our nursing program also uses a similar method to track unexcused absences across the program.
As to changing the column heading, there’s no way on the front end of Canvas, but there might be a way on the backend to alter this. That though is well beyond my area of expertise and more in line with the Canvas Developers group in the Community. I’ll go ahead and share this with them to see if anyone there can help.

Yes- with a few fairly minor upgrades, Canvas would be a great tool for tracking everything from attendance, as you do, to course completion, milestones reached, annual evaluations, etc., across an entire program from students entering in their first year to graduation.
