I'm not sure that you'd be able to do that from MS Word, but @James has developed a "Canvancement" (Canvas Enhancement) that lets you create a rubric in an Excel Spreadsheet and then put it into Canvas. I use it all the time, and it has literally saved me hours upon hours of time. It is called Importing Rubrics from a Spreadsheet. Most of James' scripts are not part of the core Canvas product...but he has come up with some really great ways to do things more efficiently.
