I have a SCORM/Storyline question....
Trying to get a Storyline360 output to pass grades to the Canvas grade book.
Output as SCORM 2004 (3rd edition) - also tried SCORM 1.2
Tracking by the result slide
Have set the LMS reporting to "Passed/Failed"
Have imported to Canvas as graded assignment
Changed assignment details from percentage to points
Went to Student view did assignment (and the included quiz)
No grade in gradebook
Can you see what I am missing in this process?
Thanks!
Bill
@william_creger , I'm not sure of the answer to this question, but I'm going to share this with the Instructional Designers and Canvas Developers groups in the Community to see if they can help!
Hello @william_creger ...
While I don't necessarily have an answer for you myself, I thought I'd check in with you. It looks as though you may have stumped the Canvas Community with your question. Have you been able to come up with any solutions on your own that you'd be willing to share back here in this discussion topic? Or, are you still looking for some assistance with this question? If you could please come back to this thread to post an update for us, that would be helpful. Thanks, and looking forward to hearing from you soon.
I'm having this same problem. @william_creger have you gotten an answer or figured it out? I just submitted a help ticket.
Were you able to find an answer to your question? I am going to go ahead and mark this question as answered because there hasn't been any more activity in a while so I assume that you have the information that you need. If you still have a question about this or if you have information that you would like to share with the community, by all means, please do come back and leave a comment. Also, if this question has been answered by one of the previous replies, please feel free to mark that answer as correct.

Please don't mark a case closed until there is an actual solution. This gives the mistaken impression that Canvas has been fixed when, in fact, it is still broken. The appearance that an issue was resolved might be good for marketing but it does not lead to the problem actually being solved.
Indeed this isnot yet solved. Trying all steps i can find...all different completed/incomplete passed/failed and Scorm 1.2 / Scorm 2004 3rd edition variations. Nothing works... the grades stay empty.
Would be really helpfull if someone creates a working sample to reuse and follow.
I have also run into this issue with Rise and Storyline scorm files on Canvas. Some teachers are able to get a grade reported after completing the modules, but others are unable to have a grade reported after completion. I have been manually entering grades for teachers who tell me they finished a rise or storyline, but the gradebook still shows 0/100. It is happening way too often and I have no idea why since it works for some people just fine.
For both Rise and Storyline Courses we are using SCORM 2004 3rd Edition.
In both cases, the moment a person starts the course, a grade of 0/100 gets reported to the gradebook. It will then replace the grade with 100/100 when the course is complete. OR AT LEAST IT SHOULD. This is only happening SOME of the time. I am trying to figure out why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't...is it a browser issue? a SCORM settings issue? both? a Canvas issue? something else? Any input would be appreciated! Thank you!
Hi Kenny,
Did you ever find an answer to this issue? We are experiencing something similar in our instance of Canvas.
We have tracked back the issue to the fact that there are a number of links in the package that aren't required to have the package marked as "complete." Thus rendering a number of 0/100 where completion would be preferred.
The problem we're now experiencing is how to get the SCORM package to report back a %/100 so that we can set a requirement within Canvas (score at least X% where X=the amount of mandatory material.)
Be well,
--JD
I've been having this same problem and recently found this article on the elearningheroes.com site: Storyline and Studio: How to Report Completion and Success Statuses to an LMS - Articulate Support. The type of score reporting and the version of SCORM you choose may have something to do with it.
SCORM 2004 V4 is the best standard. The 1st and 3rd versions were not as consistent and stable in the output.
