Streaming video links don't work.

Every time I add a link to a module to stream a video students get the following error message and cannot watch the video.  Anyone had a similar issue?  I'd appreciate your suggestions.

The issue is that when you use the External URL link in Modules it tries to embed the page you are linking to inside of the Canvas frame.  Some web sites will not allow that based on their security settings and that is what you are seeing here.  I have two options.  1.  When you add the URL to your Module there should be a check box to Load in a new tab.  This should work since it will pop the web site and/or video into a new tab instead of embedding it in a Canvas frame.  Option 2 would be to create a Page and link to or embed the video on that page.  This is my preferred method and if possible I always embed.  It depend a little on if the web site provides embed code.  This page has a good description of how to embed if you can find code on the source video site How do I embed a video in a page in a course?  However, even if you can't embed simply linking from a Page will open the link in a new window and thus avoid the issue you are seeing.  https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-26529-how-do-i-create-a-hyperlink-in-the-rich-content-edito...

Thank you Rick. I will try #1 because the problem I described occurs both when I try to embed the link in a page and when I try to use "External url" option under the "ad" :smileyplus: drop down menu in modules directly.
