[ARCHIVED] Student Annotation submission type - saving?

I haven't been able to find a definitive answer to this...let's say I upload a PDF document for students to annotate using the "Student Annotation" submission type. Do their annotations auto-save? Are they able to edit them after submitting? I am hesitant to use the feature because I have students that don't finish things during class and need the option to continue working at home. It sounds like a great feature, though! Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon all:

In my case I submitted an assignment using "student annotation"  however  my ss cold NOT use annotation tools when opening the homework on iPads. Only ss working on PC were able to edit this assignment.

From ss side: iOs updated, Canvas app updated. 

Any solution for this?
