Hi there, as student has submitted their first assessment submission well before the due date. Then made some updates to the assessment and replaced it in Canvas. This is now showing as "attempt 2" when it is really still "attempt 1". The assessment has not been marked yet either. Can you advise how as admin I can update the students attempt back to "attempt 1"?
Thank you
Good afternoon, @LeisaRobson ...
I do not believe this is possible. When a student submits work to you via a Canvas assignment, it is time/date stamped. If you allow for resubmissions, you are always able to see all submissions from that student...no matter if they submitted early or not. There is no way to delete previous submissions from your students, so there wouldn't be a way to re-label submission #2 as submission #1.
There are two related Feature Ideas I found for you here in the Community that you might be interested in taking a look at:
If you feel that either or both of these Feature Ideas align with things you'd like to see implemented in Canvas, I would encourage you to add a comment to those threads and also "rate" them with a star. You can read more about the star rating system by following this link: How do idea conversations work in the Canvas Commu... - Canvas Community.
I know this probably isn't the answer you were looking for, but I hope it has helped to answer your question. Please let members of the Community know if you have any other questions about this...thanks! Have a good one!
