[ARCHIVED] Student View of Grades not Accurate?

A student approached me showing his view of Canvas on his cell phone. For all of his classes, he could see the % of points and then (F).  So for example in my class he had 83% (F). This was causing concern for him as he wasn't sure if this would then be misinterpreted later as a course grade of F.

Is this a Canvas glitch?  It was happening for all his courses, not just mine.

I can't necessarily help with the exact question, but tell them to look at their grades on a computer.  If they are seeing the same thing on the computer, then it would be nice to see a picture of what they are seeing on the grade page on the computer.  I have seen in my csv download that there are different letter grades for the different columns based on all the different types of final scores we have for the course.

My experience (very limited because I do not look at Canvas through the phone app) is that the phone app does not work great  for viewing grades(that is some things may not display the same).

I always tell my students to use a computer to view their grades.  I can see an exact student view on the computer, so i know what they should be seeing.

There is currently a Known Issue regarding Grades in the iOS app.
