[ARCHIVED] Students see a lock symbol on their Canvas app dasboard

One of my students was asking me today why one of her classes has a lock symbol in the Canvas app dashboard even though the class is published and open. 

This is not one of my classes, so I have told the student to check with her instructor. 

But I am curious about this. Does anybody know what a lock symbol on the Canvas app dashboard mean? I am not aware of any setting that would do this.

Hi, @isabel_anievas,

According to the Canvas guides it means:

If a lock icon is displayed, your instructor has hidden student grade totals.
