In Studio, I'll add a video from YouTube by pasting in the YouTube url. The correct thumbnail will show, but when I click to view the video, the playback is just a black screen that does not play.
Hi @jwestcott ...
That's a strange one. When you are on YouTube's site for the video in question, have you tried clicking on the "Share" button and then clicking on the "COPY" like to copy that YouTube link to your clipboard? Back in Studio, go to the screen where you can paste in the YouTube link to see if it works again. If that still does not work, I would recommend reaching out to Canvas Tech Support so that they could help you further. Click on the "Help" global navigation menu item on the left side of your screen, and then you should see some options to get support.
I hope this will be of help to you. Let Community members know if you have any other questions about this. Thanks!
I wonder if there was a network problem at the time. Does the problem still exist?
Are you the owner / uploader of the video in question where you can check the settings on the video?
I did some quick testing and if you uncheck the box to allow embedding, then the thumbnail shows up, but the screen goes black with an error message that the video is unavailable.
That makes me wonder if there is some other setting that is causing the problem. I don't know what it would be, I don't want to go through my videos and start checking boxes that might cause them unplayable.
