Hello there, @anc697 ...
Sorry to see that your question has been sitting out here without a response since the beginning of August. I just tried to use Studio to make a short video where I am showing PowerPoint slides, and everything worked as expected. Before starting your recording, you'll want to make sure that you have PowerPoint open on your computer. Then, you'll want to follow the directions outlined in this Guide, How do I record a screen capture video in Canvas S... - Canvas Community. Once the screen recorder launches, you'll want to look for a dotted outline which will define the area of your screen that you want to record. You can adjust the size of that rectangular border to your linking and position it just where you want. You'll probably need to switch to PowerPoint while this dotted border is visible so that you are recording just the area of PowerPoint that you want to show your students. Then, once you have that all set up, it's just a matter of recording your video and then posting it for your students.
I hope this will be of some help to you. Let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks! Take care, stay safe, and be well.
