[ARCHIVED] Swedish characters åäö, html (utf-8) and pretty HTML Editor

Is there anyway to get the Pretty HTML Editor to stop encoding Swedish characters like åäö into old-school ä etc?

It's really annoying when editing the html directly. The character set utf-8 supports these from what I know. It's been so long since I've had to deal with this problem and I feel like I'm back in the 90's when trying to add any design aspects to pages every time I look at the HTML code.
