Dear Mr Hofer,
I think the problem had to do with setting the Prerequisites and Requirements from previous weeks. The system seemed to crash not allowing student view. I resolved this issue with clearing any and all Prerequisites.

I'm not clear on what you mean by "locked mode" for Student View. I've not heard of anything like that before. See How do I view a course as a test student using Student View? for more information. Can you please provide some more information on your question so that Community members might be able to help troubleshoot this with you?
