[ARCHIVED] Video Pausing and Submissions

I have a group of world language teachers who would like to make a video have a pause and then have student submit (via video) but multiple times. The idea is to have a short video of questions and then have the students record their answers. Anyone have an idea of how this could be accomplished with a single video. Anyone using a 3rd party for something similar?

Hello Melissa:

Our institution uses third party application called TechSmith Relay.  It allows for instructors to create a video and incorporate quizzing into the videos. The video will play up the point of the quiz, the student would have to answer the question(s) and then depending on the number of correct responses, would be able to proceed or have to review the video again.

 @mbuonato  - not sure if your instructors found an answer yet, but we have instructors using the quiz feature in Canvas for video questions.

• A video can be embedded into the Quiz instructions (i.e. from YouTube, Vimeo) to allow students to pause. Then questions can all display at once under the video. Essay questions allow students to record audio responses.
• A video can be edited/chunked up into separate quiz questions. Canvas also allows instructors to record audio or video as a quiz question.
