HI  @marriedmom1984  Welcome to the Canvas Community.

When you click the 'Edit' button at the top right then the Rich Content Editor will open up.

Hi Charlotte, if you are the teacher in the course then 'edit' will be on every page at the top right. Students will only have access to the rich content editor in Discussions when they 'write a reply'.

Students also see the Rich Content Editor for Text Entry assignment submissions and essay questions on quizzes.

Instructors see the Rich Content Editor everywhere. Okay, not everywhere, but it is pervasive inside Canvas and almost anywhere you create content.

I suspect that most instructors who are asking how to find the Rich Content Editor fall into one of these categories.

• They are trying to use the Rich Content Editor in one of the few places it isn't available, such as submission comments and the messaging system (Inbox).
• They are not aware that's what Canvas calls the editor they have been using all along.
• Their course is designed by someone else and they have not had to create content until now.
