[ARCHIVED] Why can't we see teacher created courses in our app

I'm working for a company that recently integrated Canvas.

When we are pulling the list of courses per user to our app, we do not get the courses that were created by the teachers, only the ones that were created by the district. 

Is this a permission set up that needs to be configured at the district level, or a code adjustment on our end?
