[ARCHIVED] Why there is no rich content editor in the inbox?

In canvas, there is a rich content editor included in almost every feature (even in this Q&A!!), but not in the inbox.
Is there a reasonable explanation for this?

You've hit on a popular request from Community members over the past few years. I'd invite you to check out this Feature Idea: https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/1044-add-rich-content-editor-to-conversations" modifiedtitle=".... If you feel that this Feature Idea aligns with something you would like to see implemented by Instructure, please consider adding your vote as well as posting a comment letting their software engineers know why this would be important to you. (Also, just so you know, the software that runs this Community website is different than Canvas...and therefore the features you find here may be different than what you find in Canvas.)
