Is there a way to see the word count on an assignment?

Hello Cheri --

I wanted to do word counts for discussion posts and it seems that there is no way within Canvas to do this.  So, I searched for a word count extension for my browser (I use Firefox) and added that.  Now I can select the desired text, right click, choose "word count," and get the results.

For papers, there is a word count in Turnitin, but it includes all text in the paper.  If you just want the word count for part of it, I think you need to download the paper to do the count.
