What field name imports the student to the teacher?

Hi Sue,

That would be controlled in the enrollments file with the Role field.  Full documentation here https://my.instructure.com/doc/api/file.sis_csv.html.  In Canvas when you create a user account you don't specify if they are a student, teacher, admin, etc.  I like to say all users are created equal in Canvas.  It's how you enroll them into a course or account that gives them their permissions.  So one person could be a student in some courses and a teacher in other courses.

Hi Rick.  The page you link you sent is great for WHAT the field is but I want to know WHERE to find the field.  For example, the "enrollments" csv file maps what field from what csv file connects to each other but where do I get the course_id and section_id field from?  Also, what field connects the student to the teacher and their course?
