[ARCHIVED] quiz function--does it have turnitin?

Good morning,

I am trying to build a final exam for a literature course off the quiz function.  I will need to ask a number of more thematic, general questions, essentially short essay questions, which I will need to grade myself, off speed grader.  I plan to give 2.5 hours, for a 2-hour exam, and a 24 hour window in which to take it.  I plan to give only one time allocation to take the exam, and rotate the questions, one at a time.  My first question is, is there a turnitin function?  If not, is there a way to give an exam off Canvas with the parameters I've indicated using turnitin?

As for the turnitin integration - that does not exist at this time.  You can share your use case and show your support at https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/15609-new-quizzes-allow-use-of-turnitin

The reason why Renee's response is marked as a solution right now is because there currently is not a way to integrate the quizzing features of Canvas with Turnitin.  Even though it's not the answer you were hoping to find here, this is how the current interface works.  Unfortunately, the idea that Renee has linked in her response wasn't identified as part of an Idea and Theme (formerly Feature Ideas).  However, you can click on the link in the light-blue banner at the top of that page to read the posting from Tara about things that are now for historical reference only...or just go here:

I did search the Community for other similar ideas, and I came across this one:

However, as you can see, it's not being considered because the person who submitted it had two separate ideas in one posting, and ideas need to be separated.

I know this might not be the feedback you're looking for, but I hope it helps to explain a bit on how things work here in the Community.

Thank you taking the time to explain this to me. I see this issue as a fundamental flaw in Canvas that should be addressed immediately. I don't think it should be a popularity contest to fix a fundamental flaw as this issue is not a request for a new feature.

Out of curiosity...are you using the current Classic Quiz interface?  Or, are you using New Quizzes?

As you may already know, Turnitin is a third-party integration that can connect with Canvas (which works for Canvas Assignments).  There isn't any new development being done on current Classic Quizzes.  And, I'm not sure if Turnitin would have any plans to somehow create an integration with Canvas' New Quizzes interface.  That would be a question for the people at Turnitin, I believe.
