I was editing a quiz, put a lot of work into it, hit save & publish. The quiz stayed in saving mode for several minutes, so I pushed cancel. The quiz reverted back to its original state, losing all of my work. Is there a way to get back to my edited quiz?
Hi @tcampion1 Sorry to hear about the problem you experienced. I have never tried to retrieve information from a quiz that doesn't appear to have saved. Hopefully someone here has done so, but if not Canvas Support may have some ideas.
You might try accessing the quiz from another browser just to confirm the changes did not "save". I have run into instances, with other aspects of Canvas, where a change didn't seem to work but it really did and perhaps it was a browser cache issue that made it look otherwise. Checking in a different browser could confirm that the changes were not saved. Also, if you were editing questions, perhaps the changes to those questions were saved even if the quiz itself was not. If you go into Quizzes and in the menu next to "+ Quizzes" select manage question banks, even if questions weren't in banks originally there should be a default bank called "unfiled questions". You might check a few questions you edited that are located here to see if those changes were changed.
I hope this helps and someone else has additional information that could be useful.
Thanks everybody. All's good now.
Thanks Eric,
