I'd like to replace a movie file (same filename) in which I've corrected an error. There is no obvious way to first delete the flawed file, though.

Hello  @maureen_oharaur ...

Canvas does not have a "Media Gallery".  By chance, are you using Kaltura?  We wouldn't be able to provide lots of support for Kaltura here in the Canvas Community, but I have seen people post their questions about Kaltura from time to time...since there is a Canvas integration.  While I've not used Kaltura myself, have you searched the Community site to see if anyone else has had a similar question?  You might find that a similar discussion has already taken place.
