I have had to make an oral presentation & I can't get the file uploaded

There are a number of factors that could come into play here.  

https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-9539-421241972 might be helpful as you double check your steps for uploading your assignment.  

*one thing that comes to mind right away is you may want to make sure that if your instructor specified a file type that your file is saved as that type.
