If you set peer review to automatically assign peer reviews in an assignment, set it to 1 peer review, and you have an odd number of students? What does Canvas do?

Hi 985706039
If you've set up an assignment so that Canvas assigns peer reviews automatically, it assigns each one at random and not in matching pairs - that is, if student A is reviewing student B's submission it doesn't necessarily follow that student B will be reviewing student A's submission. If you have an odd number of students it will assign the reviews so that each student is given a different submission.
Imagine a simple scenario where there are 3 students on the course: John, Dave and Anne. Canvas might assign the reviews like this:
John reviews Dave's submission
Dave reviews Anne's submission
Anne reviews John's submission
That way every submission is reviewed by someone and each student gets a different submission to review.
