@sue_coffey , greetings! I'd start by checking the recently deleted items in your course. You can do this using the "undelete" option in Canvas - Undelete. If the Assignments are there, then you can restore them to your course and all should be good. If you don't see them there (undelete), then they are likely still in your course. I'd check your "Assignments" page first to see if they are there and if they somehow got flipped to not counting towards the course grade (this is a checkbox option under the assignment settings).
