Assignment not in grades tab

I can't see an assignment in the grades tab, I have to go into modules and find the assignment then go to speed grader to see who has completed it. How can I make it appear in the grades tab?

Have you double checked that the assignment is a graded assignment?

If it's marked as ungraded then it will not show in the gradebook.
