You're correct that there isn't anything on the front-end that's built into Canvas that lets you bulk edit/delete students from the "People" button. However, I think you'll be really interested in reading this blog post from @chadscott called Bulk Remove Students Tool. I've not tried this myself as a Canvas administrator, but it looks pretty handy! You might want to give it a try! I hope this helps. Take care, stay safe, and be well.
