If you're getting Global Announcements from the wrong school, it's because you still have an active enrollment in a course at that old school.
When looking at your full list of courses, look for a course that is still in the "Active Enrollments" section that is from your old school. The teacher may no longer be using the course, but if it's still active, you'll keep getting Global Announcements from that school.
Depending on how your school has set things up, you have a few options:
- If you self-enrolled in a course, and if the course is still active, you can drop it yourself.
- If your teacher invited you to the course, that same teacher can conclude your enrollment in the course. (You won't be able to do this as a student!)
- If your school handles enrollments automatically, your teacher may not be able to conclude your enrollment within Canvas and may need to work with your school's technology support team to ensure their enrollment processes are working as intended.
If you're getting course-level notifications from an old course/school, you can adjust the notification settings for that specific course. Unfortunately, this won't allow you to disable Global Announcements from that "wrong" location.
