Can we edit the source codes of the commercial version of Canvas?

If we buy the commercial version of Canvas, is there the option to install it on our server, and can we edit the source codes to add the features that we wish?

If we can develop new features, even making changes to the features only available in the commercial version, such as New Quizzes, New Analytics, will we receive technical support from Instructure anymore? Because, as I understand it, the new developments that we make will affect the functionality of the LMS.
