I am trying to make a math assignment in which my kids can answer using KAMI. How do I do that ?
Hello there fellow Canvas educator!
Here are some helpful tips/tutorials for setting up Kami assignments. I have done a lot of current research on using this in my High School Math Distance Learning courses lately. I hope this helps for desktop/laptop/chromebook use. I am still looking into the mobile device options. I am not sure students can successfully use the external tool on their Student Canvas app?

RUBRIC must be added to assignment BEFORE making it an external tool (I also add a screenshot of the rubric in the instructions so that students can see the Rubric while completing the PDF): Adding a rubric to an External Tool assignment >>> create the assignment as a regular online submission type, save it, add the rubric, and then change the submission type to External Tool.
Suddenly this year, I have had a problem with students who have uploaded an Annotated PDF from KAMI that I can see their highlighting, but I can't see the text in the margins. I worked with a student through Google Meet to make sure she was doing each step correctly, and I could see the annotations on her screen, but when the PDF loaded into Speedgrader, they disappeared. The annotations are the biggest chunk of the grade. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I also have had new problems, since the new feature of seeing students work in real time through speedgrader was added. Students are reporting that canvas is showing "successfully submitted" assignments that they did NOT submit. On the teacher side, the assignment shows as submitted, but it is a blank pdf (the correct pdf, but no student work had been done).
