Collaborations: "session expired, please log in" "unexpected error"

I'm trying to create a file to share with my group but when I go to create the file I get two error messages one is "Your session has expired, please log back in." and the other is "An unexpected error occurred". I've used collaborations in the past and haven't had this issue before and I've gone into my account settings and app settings and deleted the office 365 app and then added it again but with no success.
