Disappearing item tags in Quizzes.Next banks

I have been building unit-based item banks in Quizzes.Next for math, and will often make a copy of an item to edit for similar problems. However, when this happens the copy no longer has the tags I applied. All other setting remain the same. This is true when copying both within the same bank and to another existing or new bank.

Any help would be appreciated! I use the tags to sort by content topic and re-entering them for each item takes extra time.
