Getting rid of unused categories in the gradebook

How do I get rid of categories in the gradebook that I do not use in my weighting system?

 @mburton , if you go to your Assignment link, then to the Category (assignment group) you want to remove, click on the gear icon and there's an option to delete. Here's a guide that should also help - How do I add Assignment Groups in my course?

Thanks.  I did figure out how to get rid of one of the categories that I don't use.  I use the "assignments" category, but I don't want those showing up in the gradebook.  If I delete the category it will delete the assignments, right?  I don't want to delete the assignments but I don't want them included in the gradebook.  Is it possible to do that?

Yes, if you delete the category without moving the assignments to a different category it will delete the assignments.

You can unpublish any assignment you don't want to show up in the gradebook, but that will also make it so the assignment doesn't show up ANYWHERE in Canvas. If you're ok with this, then go for it! Here's a guide with more information - How do I use Draft State in Assignments?

OR, if you want the Assignment to show up in the Calendar, To-Do list, and/or Modules, just not in the Gradebook you can adjust the settings to "Display grade as" - "Not graded" - How do I add details to an Assignment?
